Tudor Family Tree

THE TUDOR FAMILY TREE

The Tudor family tree started when Henry VII married Elizabeth of York. They had a child named after his father Henry VIII. They had more children like Arthur king of Wales, Margaret Tudor Queen of Scots and Mary Tudor Queen of France. Henry VIII had six wives: Catherine of Aragon,  Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr.

Henry VIII  and Catherine of Aragon married and had a baby, she born a girl, Mary I of England. First she had lots of babies but they all died and only Mary survived. Henry VIII divorced her but he could not chop her head of because she was to important for Spain and that would lead to war with Spain.

Anne Boleyn was second, they had a baby, again a girl, Elizabeth I of England.  She also had lots of babies but they also died.  Anne Boleyn was not important so he chopped her head off. Elizabeth I (her daughter) never had the chance to properly meet her because Henry VIII (Her dad) chopped Anne Boleyn’s head off but she kept a little picture of her mother in a tiny, gold heirloom, she still loved her father, (It must be tough living without a mother. Jane Seymour was the third wife she had a baby boy, Edward. But when she gave birth she was sick and passed the sickness to Edward. Soon after she gave birth to him she died and after  Edward died in the age of 15.

The  fourth wife was called Anne of Cleves. She didn’t have any children. Henry said she looks like a horse and that was an excuse to get rid of her. All happened because Henry VIII ordered his best painter to paint a picture of her. But the painter drew her too nice and, of course, Henry fall in love at once and ordered the wedding but Anne of Cleves looked different… Before the wedding, Henry wanted to see her, so he went to her room and looked at her and she wasn’t so nice at all. But the wedding had to start, but soon after the wedding he divorced her.

The fifth wife was called Catherine Howard. She didn’t have any babies but Henry VIII said she flirted with other man and he chopped her head off. She was 19 years old when she died because of Henry VIII when she was executed. She ruled England for less than 1 year which is very sad, unfortunately, she deserved it, no one will betray Henry, the powerful ruler.

Catherine Parr was the last wife of Henry VIII and the only wife of Henry that survived but Henry wanted to execute her but he died and she was left alone, lucky her, to rule England how she wanted. Later, in 1603 she died without children so Edward VI (son of Jane Seymour) ruled after her.

Henry the VIII was really famous for having so many wives and making the Church of England he was in fact the head of the church was Henry so he gave him self a divorce. First he was very handsome and clever but then the rich ate only meat and he became fatter, and fatter and soon he was very fat and died because he was very heavy and he didn’t eat ny vegetables because only the poor ate them. After his death the throne was given  to Edward. When he died Mary became Queen, she ruled wisely but she unfortunately died.It was Elizabeth’s reign she was a vergin queen she was the last Tudor after her death it was the end of the Tudors.

Edward VI was first to throne after Catherine Parr (Sixth wife of Henry VIII) but Edward unfortunetly died when he was 16 he was the last Tudor king. He died because of sickness that Jane Seymour  passed to him while child birth. He died in the age of 16.

Mary I was known as Bloody Mary because she killed lots of Protestants and she was Catholic. She married Phillip II of Spain. Her mum was Ctherine of Aragon and dad was the famous Henry VIII.

Elizabeth I ruled for 45 years wich were no mean feet in those days. No other monarch ruled for over 40 years Elizabeth I was really famous for that although she also really famous for traveling around the world whle other great monarchs didn’t . She was called a virgin queen and there is also a country named after her Virginia.Spain. Her mum was Catherine of Aragon and dad was the famous Henry VIII.
